‘Brother’ is another in a long line of great 2020 releases from rising duo Hoofa. As its title suggests, the track touches on childhood with siblings: “The song’s verses are from different sections of James' childhood - fighting and breaking bones in the earlier years and then playing silly games to keep yourself busy when you can't sleep at night and sharing a bunk bed, to growing apart whilst at university and then leaving the country.” Through the signature sound that the pair have crafted over their time together, we’re instantly hit with a sense of familiarity; ambience and well-placed falsetto lead into a bouncy, jangling pop sound that you just can’t help but tap a foot to. ‘Brother’ continues a great form for Hoofa in 2020, and as their following continues to grow, expect big things. -Dan Peeke
